A wide expanse of sloping sand, Waimanalo Beach is popular among families because of its good facilities, safe swimming, and space to play and relax.

It is the longest beach in Oahu and stretches more than five miles along the eastern shores. Visitors enjoy breathtaking views of the Koolau Mountains. Its location on the windward side of the island means that there is usually a pleasant sea breeze, a welcome relief in the heat of the summer.

The Waimanalo Beach is easily accessible by road, about 40 min north of Waikiki. There is plenty of parking slots along the beach.

Things to do

The beach attracts beginning surfers because of its gentle and well-formed waves. The park nearby is equipped with barbecues, picnic tables, showers, and public restrooms. The ironwood forest that fringes the beach provides respite from the hot sun. Camping is available by permit for those who wish to extend their stay.

The beach is often the scene of tropical weddings. Many couples opt to have their photos taken in this picturesque setting.
