Playa del Amor, also known as Lover’s Beach, is a popular beach destination in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Located off the coast of Puerto Vallarta, this secluded hidden cove is known as a haven for beach-goers.
The trade-off to the picturesque hidden beach is its accessibility. Getting here requires transport by a kayak, glass-bottom boat, jet ski, or water taxi. For those who like an overall feel of the place, getting a water taxi is an ideal option because it comes with a guided tour of the diving seas around the arch at Land’s End Arco.
As the name Playa del Amor suggests, there are many good picnic spots for lovers. These spots do not come with beach umbrellas, but they are available for rent from some local vendors. Beer, snacks, and bottled water are also available but at an inflated price, so it is wise to pack some food and water before making the trip.
Things to do
With the absence of restaurants, beach bars, and bathrooms, and the possibility of being annoyed by flies, visitors should be adequately prepared. Do not go to Playa del Amor without insect repellent, sun block, and essential beach items.
The clear fluorescent green waters of Playa del Amor awaits all visitors at the Sea of Cortez side of the beach, where snorkeling and swimming provides a hint of paradise.
On the Pacific Ocean side, however, one must exercise caution. The rough, turbulent waves render the beach unfriendly for swimmers. However, it is a good place to get a nice tan.
For an unforgettable experience at Playa del Amor, bring snorkeling and beach gear, food and water, and an adventurous spirit.
