Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island

The Pink Sands Beach, located on Harbour Island, Bahamas, boasts a unique and beautiful color of sand. The bright pink sands attract many visitors yearly.

How to get there

The island the beach is located on can be reached by ferry. The ferry services are regular and reliable. When on the island itself, walking, cycling, or a golf cart ($50 per day rental) are options.

The Pink Sands beach is accessible by foot, golf cart, and bicycle. There is car parking on the nearby streets, however, many people choose to not drive on the island.

The beach is 3 miles long, so it can be quite a long walk. The accessibility overall is good on the beach, with many options to choose from.

Pink Sands Beach facilities

Since it is a quiet beach, there aren’t as many facilities compared to other places. There are sun lounger and umbrella rental services available: the hotels will provide them for free for their guests.

Lifeguards are in short supply, as the number of visitors to the beach isn’t extremely high. Changing rooms and showers are not provided on the beach, however, most people will be able to use their hotel’s facilities, as everything is very close by.

Toilets are something that can be used in the numerous bars and restaurants along the beach. Wheelchair access might be difficult, since there is a sharp incline leading to the beach, and the terrain is quite rugged.

There are lots of opportunities for water sports. Scuba, snorkeling, and windsurfing are all done on the Pink Sands Beach.

Restaurants, bars, and cafes

Dotted along the beach is a big selection of bars and places to eat. Some of the highly rated ones include Blue Bar and Sip-Sip. These offer ocean views and a good selection of seafood and cocktails.
