Hamoa Beach, Maui, Hawaii

Relatively uncrowded even in the high season, the Hamoa Beach is a picturesque place to relax.

Getting there

There are two ways to access the beach: a set of stairs leading from the clifftops and a small service road which people can walk along. Shuttle buses deliver guests from hotels to the top of the stairs. Many tourists suggest using this way as there are just a few parking slots along the narrow road.

The trees that fringe the beach offer natural shade from the sun. There is good snorkeling on the reef, but swimmers should beware of strong offshore currents.

Snorkeling and scuba diving are popular pursuits on the Hamoa Beach, offering a view of colorful marine life.

While Hamoa Beach is open to the public, its facilities are maintained by Hotel Travaasa. Hotel guests get extra benefits, such as sun loungers and umbrellas.

Restrooms and showers are available for public use.
