Attractions at the Four Mile Beach include swimming (a stinger net is in place during the stinger season), windsurfing, and fishing. Visitors can watch sailboats go by, go snorkelling, or take in the views at the Flagstaff Hill lookout.
Flagstaff Hill is a short distance away and holds a perfect view of the Coral Sea. It also gives a glimpse of The Town and Dickenson inlet.

The Four Mile beach is lifeguard patrolled from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm seven days a week.
In order to get to this tropical paradise, one should travel through Cairns, which has an airport. Travelling the 45 mi (70 km) by car is the easiest option.
