The Butterfly beach is located at the foot of the Butterfly Valley in the Fethiye Province. This is a wonderful example of the amazing flora and fauna of Turkey.
Just 5 km from the Oludeniz main beach, the Butterfly beach is a much calmer and nature lover’s dream.
A narrow strip of white sand between the towering cliffs of the canyon and the Mediterranean sea, the Butterfly beach has a scenic beauty that is a dream come true for avid photographers. As the name suggests, butterfly valley is home to many species of butterfly. However, you can see them only from June to September, which is the ideal duration for camping.
The beach can be reached by a water taxi from Oludeniz, and there are several tour boats that stop at this beach as well.
On the beach
The clear turquoise waters are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Hikers and trekkers will find challenges in the canyon, especially during the climb to the beautiful waterfall that is near the beach.
The facilities near this beach are pretty basic. There are only a few wooden huts, and shared bathrooms, however, tents are available for renting. A self-service restaurant and bar which provides refreshments.
Additionally, there are nightly bonfires and barbecues on the beach.
