Anse Intendance Beach, Mahe

The beautiful Anse Intendance Beach lies on the south coast of Mahe, around 20 miles from the island’s capital. Soft white sand and mammoth breakers are two main characteristics of this popular beach.

Getting there

Travel to the Anse Intendance is possible using a car or public transport. The Southern part of the bay provides access for the public, where a path on the side of the Banyan Tree Resort leads through a jungle and down to the beach.

On the beach

Although there is a lifeguard service, swimming is not advisable due to the tremendous waves, so surfing and sunbathing are popular alternatives. Granite boulders on the beach provide opportunities for children to climb and play.

The Banyan Tree Resort is situated on the beach and offers accommodations in beautiful villas with facilities such as:

  • a tennis court
  • a gym
  • a swimming pool
  • a bar right on the Anse Intendance Beach.

Other accommodation options are the 3-star ValMer Resort, the 2-star Chalets D’Anse Forbansa, and the Chez Batista Villas with a lovely restaurant.
